Magician

This man I know
with magic tongue
makes half my world
come all undone

With slight of word
and tongue in cheek
reveals my mind
and in a wink

He sees through me
and makes me feel
invisible.
exposed, unreal

In knots he ties
my stomach tight
then quickly says
the words just right

To change the knots
to butterflies.
He frees my thoughts
to fantasize

Like fluttering doves
I thought were gone
He deftly shows
that all along

I simply had
my eyes and mind
upon the slight
of clever hand.

He lifts the veil
that covers me.
I reappear.
He sets me free.
